One of Indonesia's popular fashion centers, Bandung in West Java, is hosting the inaugural Indonesia Hijab Fest 2012.
A number of Islamic fashion designers are displaying their designs at the two-day event, which kicked off Tuesday morning at Sabuga cultural hall.
“During the festival, visitors can also see actresses wearing hijab, such as Zaskia Mecca, Rachel Maryam, Marshanda, Zaskia Sungkar,” said Tita from the organizers as quoted by tribunnews.com on Tuesday.
According to Tita, the hijab exhibition features 100 Islamic fashion brands, including Ria Miranda, Dian Pelangi, Jenahara, Monel, Gda, Inas'scarf, Zaskia Mecca shop, Zemma (by Indri Sahrul Gunawan).
Discussions are also being staged with author Muh Assad, young cleric Abu Marlo and Ninih Muthmainah, better known as “teh Ninih”, the wife of religious figure and preacher KH Abdullah Gymnastiar, popularly known as Aa Gym.
The event runs until Thursday.
